Suns Cinema and the DC Palestinian Film & Arts Festival (DCPFAF) are proud to present the DC premiere of the widely acclaimed film by Palestinian-American filmmaker Cherien Dabis, All That’s Left of You (2025). The film launched at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, and recently made the December shortlist for the Oscars 98th Academy Awards (2026) in the Best International Feature Film category, representing Jordan.

In her deeply moving, multigenerational drama All That’s Left of You, a Palestinian teenager gets swept into a protest in the Occupied West Bank and experiences a moment of violence that rocks his family. The film unfolds as his mother recounts the political and emotional threads that led to that fateful moment. Spanning seven decades, the film traces the hopes and heartaches of one uprooted family, bearing witness to the scars of dispossession and the enduring legacy of survival.

DCPFAF Film Curators Sabrin Qadi and Samir Salem will host and provide introductory remarks before the screenings on January 16th including a moment of remembrance for Mohammed Bakri, the acclaimed Palestinian filmmaker who starred as the Older Sharif in the film, and passed away  at the age of 72 on Christmas Eve. He appeared in more than 40 films and directed documentaries highlighting the experiences of Palestinians living under occupation.
